Is it legal and safe?
An Instagram story is visible for 24 hours, and Instagram shows the account who watched it. Our viewer removes the second part. Because it works without an Instagram login, it cannot mark a story as seen: the viewer list belongs to logged-in accounts, and there is none here. What you get is the same content, played the same way, without the record.
It only works for public accounts. If the account is private, Instagram does not serve its stories to anyone who is not an approved follower, and we do not try to get around that. You will see the profile header and a note that the account is private. If the account has no active story, you will see that too, along with its highlights, which do not expire.
Viewing public content is allowed — the account chose to make it public. We don't log in, don't bypass privacy settings and don't store the media you view. Respect copyright when you download.

- Can the account see that I watched their story?
- No. Instagram records viewers who are logged in. We fetch the story with our own servers, so there is no viewer for it to record and nothing appears in their list.
- Do I need an Instagram account?
- No. There is no sign-up, no login and we never ask for an Instagram password. Everything works from the search box.
- Does it work with private accounts?
- No. Private stories are only served to approved followers. We show the public profile header and tell you the account is private.
- How fresh are the stories?
- We fetch on demand and cache the result for a few minutes so that repeat views do not hit Instagram again. Stories still disappear after 24 hours on Instagram's side.
- Can I download a story?
- Yes. Every story photo or video has a download button that saves the original file. Please respect the creator's copyright.
- Why does it say 'Instagram is not answering'?
- Instagram throttles automated requests from time to time. When that happens we show the last copy we have, mark how old it is, and link to the status page.
