If you own a public Instagram account (or represent its owner, or are a parent of a minor who owns it) you can ask us to block lookups of that account on Peekghost. A person reviews every request. We aim to add the block, and to delete the search records and cached copies we hold for that username, within 72 hours of a valid request, and the block stays in place until you ask us to lift it.

Blocking removes the account from search results, story and highlight pages, alerts and the embed widget on this site. It does not change anything on Instagram itself. To control who sees your content there, set your account to private or adjust your story audience in the Instagram app.

What we do with your request

• We store the username, the reason you chose, your message, your email address if you gave one, and a salted hash of your IP address (to rate-limit the form). We do not send marketing mail.
• Ownership check: on the form you can ask for a short code to put in your Instagram bio for 24 hours. When we review the request we look at the bio once and, if the code is there, approve it immediately. Without the code a person decides from the information you gave, and may ask you to confirm ownership before acting on a request made by a third party or before lifting a block. We do not send email, so keep the reference number shown after you submit.
• We keep the request for as long as the block or any dispute about it lasts, and review it at least once a year.
• Requests about copyright go to the DMCA page. Requests to see, correct or delete other personal data we hold about you go to the contact address in the privacy policy.
