About Peekghost
Peekghost is an independent, free tool for viewing public Instagram stories, highlights and posts without an account. Here is who we are and how it works.

Peekghost lets you look at public Instagram content — stories, highlights, posts, reels and profile pictures — without logging in. Because no Instagram account of yours is involved, you do not appear in the account owner's viewer list.
Why it exists
Most tools in this category are ad-choked, break every few weeks, hide the download button behind redirects, or ask you to log in with your own Instagram account. We think a viewer should be fast, honest about when it is broken, and clear about what it does and does not do.
What it does
- Fetches public content on our servers, so your device never talks to Instagram.
- Plays stories in a player that behaves like the app: tap to skip, hold to pause, swipe to change account.
- Lets you download what you can see, in the quality Instagram serves it.
- Keeps your watchlist, recent searches and settings in your browser.
- Is upfront about limits: it only works for public accounts and can be slow when Instagram throttles requests.
- Tells you what we record. Our own server logs basic visit data and the usernames people search for, linked to an IP address and a visitor ID, for 90 days. Nothing is sold, and you can opt out of analytics. "Anonymous" here means anonymous towards Instagram and the account owner, not towards us. The privacy policy has the full list.
What it does not do
- It does not show private accounts. Only approved followers can see those, and we do not bypass that. Any site that claims to is a scam.
- It does not ask for your Instagram password, and it never posts, likes or follows anything.
- It does not archive Instagram's media. Videos and original files are streamed through us and not stored; we keep only resized copies of public images in a size-capped performance cache.
